Sunday morning on Nana's porch

Emma and Nana logged some time this nice Sunday morning painting and rocking on the back porch. Both of us were in our pajamas!

So Sweet...

Molly, Bjarne, and Emma came over for dinner this evening. Dan grilled out steaks and we enjoyed them with roasted asparagus and a tomato/basil/mozzarella cheese/red onion salad.

Emma came over all dressed up in a smocked dress and sweater that I gave her. She looked so soft and sweet dressed in these pastel colors. After strawberry cupcakes for dessert, Emma changed into pajama's. She and Matty retired to Matty's room so Emma could "reorganize" his CD and video game collection. That kept her busy for quite a while.

I shot these cute photos before dinner on the back porch. She is holding a tiny stuffed panda bear and a blue platypus. Molly brought the platypus back when she returned from Kansas City this week.

African Flower

Here is my latest effort. The crochet pattern is called African Flower. I found it on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/elizabethcat/4483316073/in/faves-44396632@N03/ and was inspired by the beautiful color and pattern. I have 7 hexagons completed and attached together. Now that I see how it is coming together, I think it will really be beautiful. I am putting it to the side to finish my Sunburst project this weekend.

Hexagons

Here is another crochet pattern that I found very interesting. It came from the same Internet source as the Ripple pattern - http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/hexagon-howto.html.

I am using scraps left over from the hats I knit for Emma and Bobby and yarn from my stash. The yarn is a very soft washable wool - Cascade 220 Superwash. I love this yarn and it comes in such wonderful colors. I don't have a set color scheme and just pick from random for each hexagon with a color combination that appeals to me. I am designing as I go. What fun!

Current Project Collage

I put this collage together on my current project to post to a Flickr group. The pattern is called Sunburst. So far I have 42 blocks done and put together - 14 more to go!

Ripple Blanket

Here is another finished project! A rainbow ripple blanket made with Cascade 220 Superwash yarn and a pattern that I found on the Internet http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/neat-ripple-pattern.html. Lucy, the author of this blog, has an eye for color that pleases me and her instructions are very easy to follow. This is actually the second one I have made. Emma liked the first one and took it home with her a few weeks ago. This pattern is very easy and relaxing to work.

Play Time on Sunday

Emma played with Nana's toys. Her favorites today were the Rocking Dragon and some alphabet M&M like stringing beads.

Painted Piggies

Molly and Emma went for a mother/daughter pedicure yesterday. Although Emma wanted blue polish, she did settle for a soft pink. As soon as she walked in our door this morning, she sat down and removed her shoes so she could show off her "painted piggies."

Snakes+Lizards+Bugs=FUN!

Big D added some bugs to the collection yesterday. Emma came over to play while her Mommy and Daddy had a dinner date. She was non-stop motion. She is getting to be quite the diva -- hairbow and jellies. Love the GAP applique on her bottom!

Pizza Party

I shot these photos of Emma today. She spent quite a bit of time "cutting and serving" pizza to Matty and me. We also played with stamps, watercolors, snakes, lizards, and other cooking activities in her kitchen. I guess we "did it all" today. Fun was had by all.

Binky, Blankie, Lizards and Snakes

Emma came over this evening for a visit while her Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a dinner date. She and Uncle Matty played with a bunch of snakes and lizards that I added to our toy collection today. Bobby will like these too!

Crochet

Here are some shots of my current project. I love the colors and the feel of the wool as I am working with it.

Easter 2010, Vancouver BC

Here is Bobby all dressed up for Easter Sunday. He looks like such a big boy. Emily, Robert, and Bobby are moving to Greenville SC and will be back in the States in one more week. We are so happy that they will be close by again. We will be joining them at the beach the week of May 10.

I'll have another grandbaby close by to spoil - how wonderful!

Easter 2010, Charlotte

We celebrated Easter with a brunch and Easter Egg hunt on the front lawn. The menu consisted of baked ham, roasted asparagus, green onion/red pepper/cheese frittata, croissants, strawberries and blueberries.
I gave Emma a basket full of hairbows that I made for her. She likes to wear them and they look so cute!

Good Friday

I had Good Friday as a work holiday. Miss Emma came over for a play date at Nana's house. We had fun decorating for Easter and filling a basket full of plastic eggs with treats for our Easter egg hunt on Sunday.
