Christmas Sewing

 It is that time of year to start focusing on Christmas sewing for my family and Etsy shop.  I love making original stockings using English paper piecing, appliqué, and both hand and machine quilting.

Pieced Hexagon Quilted Stocking

I have finished a couple of dozen stocking so far for my Christmas 2016 Etsy Shop listings.  This one is my favorite so far -

I made this one using Moda fabrics by Bonnie and Camille.  It is hand pieced and machine quilted.

It's Flag Day! Patriotic Pillow in Cathedral Window pattern

I tried a new technique with this pillow top - Easy Cathedral Window.  Check out Missouri Quilt Company's tutorial on youtube.  I made it in a fun patriotic red, white, and blue colorway.  Currently it is listed in my Etsy shop.

Sock Monkey Drawstring Bag

 I finished this Sock Monkey themed drawstring bag over the weekend.  Wouldn't it be cute holding a small boy's special birthday gift?  He could also use it to store his toys and gadgets after the party is over.  I have a couple for sale now in my Etsy shop and they come with a matching personalized gift tag.

More Owl Tooth Fairy Fabric and Color Combinations

 I have been busy stitching up some samples for my Etsy shop - new fabrics and color combinations for my Owl Tooth Fairy pillow designs.  I think I like the first one best....

Zippered Pouch - Owl in dotted fabrics

Another finish from the weekend - a little (6 inches tall and 9 inches wide) zippered pouch that I appliqued the front with a cute owl and quilted the back.  All fabrics are dotted.  I really like the combination of aqua, brown, orange and green.

Early morning sewing

I started sewing early this morning and finished up a few more quilted dtawstring bags.  I love to sew in the early morning hours before anyone else is up and about.

Froggy Zippered Pouch

I finished another zippered pouch today.  It has an appliqued front and pieced and quilted back.  I have spent hours reviewing zippered pouch techniques on Pinterest.  I think I have a combination that works for me.

Another zippered pouch finish today!  The front has been appliques and embellished with rick rack and buttons and the back has been pieced and quilted.  Fun!

Christmas Sewing

I have been working on Christmas designs the last few weeks and finished up a line of modern quilted stockings this past weekend.  I had some assistance on the quilting - used my new Bernina 750 QE.  I am a Bernina lover!
