March 22 - Wreath for the front door

I made a trip to Michael's this morning and purchased a grapevine wreath, greenery, florals, and ribbon.  After spending some time wrestling with some green floral wire, the wreath and supplies, we have a new wreath for the front door.  It includes a couple of bird nests recycled from previous year's spring wreath that was stored in the garage.

March 20 - Gardening

I have neglected our garden for many years and have spent some time this spring getting things whipped back in shape.  So far, I have:
  • Moved and separated day lilies
  • Expanded my herb garden
  • Moved and separated perennials
  • Trimmed the boxwood and roses
  • Planted most of the pots for annuals and changed out the garden flags

Today I planted the annuals in the pots in the back garden and worked on trimming boxwoods and roses.  Dan sprayed for weeds as our "mulch guys" are coming on Thursday to mulch all the beds.  I still need to find annuals to fill the goat cart and antique wheel barrow on our front porch.  It was a fun day.  Thank you, Matty, for watching the dogs while we were working!

March 19 - Dinner Prep

I made a large batch of sausage and peppers for dinner - enough for our meal and a meal for the freezer stash.  Here is a shot of some of the completed prep work.  I like to photograph anything red (my favorite color).

March 18 - What's in my morning frittata?

Frittata
I love making frittata for brunch on the weekend.  It is easy, looks like I worked harder than I did, and I can use up the odds and ends in my fridge.  Today's ingredients included left over corned beef and boiled potatoes, fresh spinach. onion, cheddar cheese, and salsa.  I topped mine with Sriracha chili sauce for a little extra kick.

March 17 - St. Patrick's Day Four Leaf Clover and Bobby's 3rd Birthday Party

St. Patrick's Day - Four Leaf Clover
Here is the POTD - a four leaf clover that Dan handed me when I pulled in the driveway from the drive back from Bobby's birthday party in Greenville today.  He found it when walking the dog.  I took over 300 shots at Bobby's birthday party and have not yet had time to pick my favorites.  I uploaded them to Shutterfly - http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8AauXDRi5as2eC .  You can view them there.  It was a great party loaded with 3 year olds and fun!  The weather cooperated for back yard fun.

March 15 - Poster Project Finished!

I finished the poster project that I have been working on for Bobby's 3rd birthday party on Saturday.  I lined them up on the back porch to take some photos before I packed them up for the trip to Greenville.

March 14 - More Herbs

I purchased some more herbs for my herb garden expansion today and took some shots of some of the new additions.

Matt and I spent some time today working in the yard.  We divided and moved daylilies to make room for our herb garden expansion.  I bought some herbs to plant - mint, oregano, Italian parsley, and thyme.  I also got a shot of some Easter decorations that I retrieved from the hutch - alabaster eggs.

Emma

My photographs from today include a shot of our new garden flag blowing in the breeze, a painting Bobby made me, and a couple of shots of Emma sitting on our back porch.  We enjoyed a sleep over with Emma last night.  The second shot of her pointing was when she found a "shooting star" (airplane) in the sky.

These new additions to my yarn stash came in the mail yesterday.  All of them are in shades of my favorite color, red.
