Emma Rocks!

Emma learned how to rock on her own this weekend. Big D and I stocked our toy supply with the cutest rocking dragon. At first, Emma was scared of it, then she would sit on it while we manually rocked it. This weekend she learned to rock on her own and do her own "dismount." What a big girl!

Bobby at 7 Weeks, What a Big Smile!

If you get to my blog, please click on the link to Emily and Robert's blog to see photos of 7-week old Bobby with a huge toothless grin. He is so cute and has grown so much since I last held him. What a cutie!

Waterpillar

Molly bought Emma a sprinkler toy called a "Waterpillar." You can see from this scrapbook page that she thought it was great fun! Bjarne likes it too, as it also does double duty by watering their yard.

Sunday Visit

Molly and Emma stopped by this afternoon for a short visit. She was wearing a cute smocked pink romper and shoes that her Nana got for her. She had me read a favorite book, "Dinosaur Roar" and Molly read her standing favorite, "A Very Hungry Caterpillar." I love this shot of her little fingers exploring the "caterpillar" holes in the book! She spent some time feeding cookies and a bottle to her twin babies, "Baby Emma" and Baby Bobby."

Saturday Play Date at Nana's

Emma spent most of the day Saturday visiting with her Nana and Big D. She is such a busy baby girl. We read books, we played "kitchen," we danced and sang, and went on a walk. She took a morning and afternoon nap for me this visit. Her play style includes touching every single toy during every play session. She wore a cute outfit that her Aunt Emily sent for her.

Camel Ride

Big D and I visited with Carrie and Tessa in Knoxville, TN this past weekend. We spent most of the day Saturday at the Knoxville Zoo. The highlight of the Zoo experience was the Camel Ride. Here are some pictures documenting the event. Note, the low point of the Zoo experience was the wait for lunch caused by the call to security for the fight that broke out because of a "line jumping" incident in the order line. We had a wonderful visit with Carrie and Tessa.

Wiggles, "I Feel Like Dancing"

We gave Emma a couple of Wiggles videos for Easter (along with a few other treats). Here is a video clip of her dancing along with the Wiggles video. How cute is this!

Egg Hunt

Emma and family came for Easter dinner and we did our first egg hunt in many, many years. Emma had a great time! She is getting to the age where she wants to "do it myself," and that included carrying her full Easter basket into the house.

Baby Bobby

I had about an hour of one-on-one time with Bobby today while Emily was taking a nap. I caught him on some video clips as he was hovering between awake and sleeping. I was able to capture a cute yawn and some gas smiles. What a cutie!

My Visit with Bobby (Emily and Robert too!)

I have had so much fun seeing Bobby change in his first 2 weeks in the world. Bobby, along with Emily and Robert, continues to do well! Here are some scrapbook pages I made to record these days.

Nana and Bobby solo in Vancouver

I'm 30 minutes into my first solo babysitting with Bobby. Emily and Robert are running a few errands and entrusted Bobby to me. He is currently well swaddled in bed with his sound machine set to a loud womb. Their condo has been very quiet during the week, but someone upstairs is doing some work today -- hammering directly above us. It has quieted down in the last 5 minutes, so I have my fingers crossed that it won't wake Bobby.

Bobby is such a good baby! I believe he would sleep through the night if Emily didn't wake him to nurse. He went a good 5 hours one night this week, as Emily overslept and didn't wake him after 4 hours. When he went to the pediatrician this week, he had gained back his birth weight plus a couple of ounces. Both he and Emily have figured out the nursing routine.

All though it is early to tell, I definitely think he is going to resemble Robert. It has been fun to be here for his first days at home and see him change on a daily basis.

Bobby likes his swing!

Here are some cute pictures and a video clip of 1-week old Bobby enjoying his swing. His eyes are very round when he is alert and awake.

Scrapbook pages for Bobby

Things are quiet here in Vancouver. Bobby is a great baby and only cries when hungry or needs a change. Molly and I are helping where we can, but Emily has Bobby's routine under control. Molly is catching up on her TV shows and I have been filling time playing with my PhotoShop making scrapbook pages for Bobby.

Meeting Bobby Howell

Molly and I took a 5+ hour flight to Seattle on Friday and then a 5+ hour shuttle to Vancouver, BC on Saturday to meet Bobby. Emily, Robert, and Bobby are doing great. It is so good to finally meet him. Emily is a natural and is handling Bobby like she is an old pro. I am so proud of her. Molly got to share her swaddle technique with Emily. Bobby is nursing and going 3-hour stretches napping between feedings -- how great is that!

Welcome Baby Bobby!

Emily and Robert finally welcomed little Bobby (7 lbs.) yesterday! Happy Birthday Bobby!

Emily had a long labor and delivered by c-section. Mother and baby are both doing well. We are blessed with another precious baby in our family. Molly and I are flying to see them this weekend -- we can't wait!

Emma's Sunday Play Date at Nana's

Emma spent the day with us today and Molly came for dinner. Emma kept very, very busy with my new toy collection! She took over a 2-hour nap. After Molly came, we dressed her in one of the smocked dresses that I made her. Molly was able to distract her while I clipped in a hair bow. She wore it for over an hour and never new it was there. See how cute she looks in her first bow!
She likes the cookie sheet and iced cookies. The cookies velcro to the sheet and the icing is attached to the cookies with velcro -- that way she can decorate the cookies and have many, many pieces to play with.

Emma's New Kitchen

Dan and I went shopping Friday and bought Emma a kitchen set at Pottery Barn Kids. Of course, it is pink! We stocked it with dishes, pots & pans, and all kinds of play food. Emma came over on Saturday to play and was very excited about her new toys at Nana's house. Up to this point, we have just had the culls and rejects that Molly has lent us. We had to step it up a notch!
Being grandparents is such a joy! We love this little baby girl and are looking forward to meeting our first grandson, Bobby, this month. Molly and I are flying to Vancouver on the 20th to meet him -- that is, assuming he arrives by then!

F is for Frog....

Emmy, I am doing some other things for Bobby's nursery walls. What do you think? About 5 similar to this framed in black (frame size 14x18 picture size 8x10) with a 3 inch wide white mat. They will be simple like this in bright primary colors. B is for Bird, T is for Turtle, G is for Grasshopper, C is for Caterpillar.... maybe you can think of some other ones good for a baby boy. Do you have wall space for 5? They will look best in a grouping. I found some frames in stock, so can have them ready when I come.

Emma's First "Official" Haircut

As you can see from the photographs on this scrapbook page, Emma was less than enthused about the haircut. The little red plane that she was sitting in didn't help one bit.
