Emma and Bobby

Emma was sick over the weekend, so we kept her away from Bobby for the first few days of our beach trip. Here are some pictures of their first encounter. She is fascinated by his tiny feet.

Sun Tent

Molly brought the sun tent that we used for Emma last year. The idea was that we would let Bobby use it this year. As soon as we got it out, Emma was in it and calling to all family members to join her. "Come on, Nana." "Come on, Big D." Everyone has had a turn in the sun tent with Emma, including Nana.

Beach Trip 2009

We are at the beach again this year for our family vacation. This year, we have a new addition - Bobby Howell. Emma calls him "Baby Bobby." Dan and I arrived on Sunday in time to pick up Bobby and Emily from the airport. Molly, Bjarne, and Emma joined us on Monday afternoon. Here is a picture of Bobby and his friend George.

Dan, Bjarne, and Robert - Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the special fathers in my life -- my dear husband and Bjarne and Robert, my sons-in-law. Miss Emma spent the day playing with us and Molly and Bjarne came for dinner. We enjoyed grilled chicken, sliced tomatoes, corn on the cob, and grilled veggies. Strawberry sundaes finished our meal. I didn't take a single picture this weekend, but here is a picture I took of Emma and Bjarne last weekend.

Popsicle!

Molly, Bjarne, and Emma came over to celebrate my birthday today. We had a wonderful dinner - roasted beef tenderloin, tomato salad, and linguine dressed with olive oil, lemon, garlic and parsley. We adults had angel food cake, ice cream, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream for dessert. Emma enjoyed her first popsicle! As you can see from these pictures, she liked it!

Splash Fun at Nana's!

Emma spent the day with us while Molly was catching up on work. We bought Emma a little wading pool and a cute sprinkler. Here are some pictures and a video of her enjoying the water fun! Matty was a trooper, as usual with Emma, going into the sprinkler fully clothed.

Jayla's Birthday Party

Emma's cousin Jayla celebrated her 5th birthday yesterday. She had a party at the clubhouse by her pool with pizza, chips, cake, a clown, and fun games. Emma was the youngest one there, but enjoyed hanging with the big kids. She especially enjoyed watching the older children play musical chairs and also got a turn with the pinata (shaped like a high heeled shoe). She even got in on the scramble for the candy! Emma adores her cousin Jayla!

Note Cards

I was in Denver this week and got home Friday afternoon. Last night I started playing with the pen tablet I got for my laptop. I drew a strawberry and then incorporated it into some note cards for the girls and me. I then started on the note cards I promised Bobby months ago. All are done! Emmy, I'll bring them to the beach or mail them -- just let me know your preference. We are going to Jayla's 5th birthday party this afternoon. She is having a pool party and Molly and Bjarne hired a clown to paint faces and add some extra fun. I'll be sure to get some pictures!

Another Bobby Hat

Here is another design with a star that I just finished last night. The star hat is a size 0-6 months, and the turtle hat is size 6-12 months. The frog hatand blue and white str iped hat that he already has are a newborn size.

New Hat for Bobby

I designed and knit a new hat for Bobby with a turtle on it. I can't wait to see him in it!

Emma's Rocking Chair

Big D and I bought Emma and Bobby matching rocking chairs for our porch. Here are some pictures and a video clip of Emma enjoying hers. We spent this weekend working in the yard and getting the porch and patio ready for the summer. Molly, Bjarne, and Emma came by for dinner. We had a good time and a great dinner. Our menu included a fresh fruit salad, grilled burgers and dogs, potato salad, and a tomato/basil/mozzarella salad.

Gift from Emmy

Emmy sent a CD with 106 pictures of Bobby's 2nd month to me for Mother's Day. What a wonderful gift! Here are some of my favorites. What a beautiful baby and mother!

Emma's hair is growing in curly, just like her Momma's and Aunt Emily's was at this age. It is also getting lighter.

Mother's Day 2009

We started our day with Molly and Emma and a bagel breakfast at our house. Emma came in her pj's and got to take her bath in Nana's kitchen sink before heading home for a nap. We got her on video saying "Bobby."

We ate a great dinner at Molly's including grilled burgers, corn on the cob, and baked beans. I supplied the cheesecake for dessert. I have never seen Emma eat so much! She ate sliced tomatoes, banana, chips and dip, burger, corn, and lots of baked beans. She asked for "more" beans several times during the meal. Each request she made for more was accompanied by a verbal "More" along with the sign language equivalent -- how cute! Here are some pictures taken during our morning and of Emma sharing chips and dip with her Uncle Matty before our evening meal.

All we missed were Emily, Robert, and Bobby. We miss you and can't wait to see you again!
