June 10 - Purple

My shots today include some of the fabric flowers I completed on our road trip this weekend and the flowers on our hosta plants.  Both are in shades of purple.

June 9 - Dinner in Atlanta

Dan and I stopped in Atlanta this evening on our way back to Charlotte and enjoyed a seafood dinner.  I took these shots outside the restaurant to complete my "photo of the day" shots for today.

June 8 - Road Trip

We are traveling today to Marietta, GA.  We are spending the night and then continuing on to attend a memorial service for Dan's sister Alice on Saturday.  As usual, I am packing a project basket and lots of magazines to keep me occupied.  Here is a shot of my basket of hand needlework packed and ready to go.

June 7 - Cutest Strawberry Pin Cushion

I spent some time last night on the internet researching strawberry pin cushions.  After finding many examples and tutorials, I made one for myself with my own variation and design.  It turned out so cute (if I do say so myself)!

June 6 - New Fabric

Dan and I stopped in Gastonia at MaryJo's on the way back to Charlotte yesterday.  I picked up some fabric to replenish my stash while I was there.

June 5 - Visit with Emily

Dan and I went to Greenville today and were able to stop by Emily's for some play time with Bobby and Noah.  We spent a great deal of our time in Bobby's bedroom as he took us on a tour of his dresser drawers.  We got to see each and every pair of his big boy pants with dinosaurs, tigers, and various other animal designs.  We left for the living room when he started on the pj drawer.  I didn't take my camera, but took a few shots with my phone.

June 4 - More Headbands

I'm still working on the headband project.  Here are my latest finished headbands.

June 3 - Working on the "Down" command

We spent some time this evening with dog treats working on the "down" command.  Both dogs have this one down pat.

June 2 - Emma loves Charlie

Molly, Bjarne, and Emma stopped by yesterday after dinner for a cup of coffee and a visit.  I got these shots of Emma showing Charlie some love.  She loves Charlie!

June 1 - Emma's new headband

I picked up Emma early from school today and we went for a frozen yogurt and pedicures.  After the pedicure, we made a quick run for candy and then went home to play before dinner.  Dan grilled hotdogs and Emma modeled her new headband that I made her and played with the dogs.  We got to visit with Molly and Bjarne for a while when we dropped her off at home.  Here are some shots that I took on our back porch before dinner.

May 31 - Double Bloom Orange Daylily

A friend gave us some daylily bulbs that she dug up from her yard in an older section of Charlotte shortly after we moved here.  These lilies have the most amazing double ruffled blooms.  I captured a shot of the first bloom of this type in the garden this evening.  I also got another close up shot of the daisies... I love them!

May 30 - Headbands for Emma

I made a prototype blue headband with a fabric flower on Monday.  As soon as I can try this on Emma for size, I am ready to go into production.

May 29 - Daisies and Daylilies

Today I got some shots at dusk of the daisies and daylilies blooming in our yard.  We have hundreds of blooms!

May 28 - Holiday Loafing

I spent a very, very quiet and relaxing day today.  We had plenty of leftovers.. so, no cooking.  I read Harlen Coben's latest release from start to finish - started on the back porch and finished in bed.  I also caught up on some photo editing and blogging.  I spent some of the evening researching headband patterns and made one for Emma.  My kind of day!

May 27 - Birthday Dinner for Matt

We celebrated Matt's birthday with a dinner of his choosing this evening.  Molly, Bjarne, and Emma joined us for a menu of - pulled pork BBQ, pasta salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, tomato caprese salad, sugar bacon (for Emma), and coconut cake with fresh strawberries.  Everyone had a good visit.  Molly took home some leftovers and we will have plenty for tomorrow.

May 26 - Cosmetic Bags for Molly

Molly requested that I make her some large sized cosmetic bags.  She picked out the fabric from my stash and I made these great bags lined with vinyl.  I was very pleased with the results!  I also made a matching tote bag for her.

May 25 - Blooms

We have dozens of daisies in bloom now.  Matt and I split them apart and moved them this spring and they are doing great!  I have been photographing this one hydrangea bloom for a while now to track its progress and record the change.

May 24 - Photos of Photos

I went to Greenville today to help supervise the hanging of the photographs I had framed for Dan's office.  We hung 16 of my photographs taken in downtown Greenville along with a framed company logo.  I got this shot of one of the walls after we finished.

May 23 - New Flip Flops

I wore the new flip flops Molly gave me for Mother's Day today.  I love the bright soles!

May 22 - Crayon Pouch

I finished the crayon pouch I was working on for Emma today.  It measures 5.25 x 5.25 inches and is made from 100% cotton prints with a plasticized lining in blue and white polka dots.
