Getting in the Fall spirit!

I'm getting in the Fall spirit and pulled out the "fall themed" pincushion I made earlier in the year to sit on my work table.  I made it using linen, designer cotton prints, wool felt, and a tape measure printed cotton twill tape.  I love it!

Scrappy Quilted Patchwork Pillows

In my previous post, I outlined my "dive" into a huge and growing pile of fabric scraps.

I wanted to post my first two finished projects from my efforts working in my scrap pile - Scrappy Quilted Patchwork Pillows.  One is a 16 inch pillow and the other is a 20 inch pillow, both made with an envelope style back.  These cute "one of a kind" pillow tops will soon be available for sale in my Etsy shop.

What to do with a mountain of fabric scraps?????

I am coming up on the 2 year anniversary of opening my Etsy shop.  Earlier this month, I made up my mind to do something with the growing volume of fabric scraps that I have hoarded accumulated over the months.

I did have them organized by color in bins.

I am a huge Pinterest fan and go there often for inspiration.  I found a blog post by Lori Holt that got me started - http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/2013/08/from-my-quilty-studiohow-i-save-my.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+BeeInMyBonnet+(Bee+In+My+Bonnet)

After reading through Lori's post, I started wading through my scrap piles and cutting strips of fabric.

I then started using the "Leaders and Enders" technique (also described in another post by Lori Holt - http://beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.com/2011/07/leaders-and-enders.html ) to sew my little scraps together.

I no time, I had a stack of pieced blocks that I used to make two fun quilted pillow covers.
