I am posting a few, as I think I have taken enough "dog" pictures in the last couple of days.

These pictures were taken after Sophie and Charlie wore themselves out playing. When Sophie was sleeping, Charlie crawled over and climbed on her and they both slept together.

POTD January 14 - Charlie meets Sophie

We picked up Charlie today from the breeder. He is 7 weeks old. We had a 3-hour drive and he did great! He eats his puppy food with a little cottage cheese - his version of a cheese burger. Sophie eats her dry food with parmesan cheese. He came from a litter of 9 and was excited to see Sophie. Sophie was not as excited to see Charlie, but we will be working on it over the next few weeks. It is 9 PM now and Charlie has been sleeping in his crate for 30 minutes. I put him down with a blanket and a chew toy and have not heard a peep from him yet.

POTD January 12 - "Sophie, a dog's life including toy and down comforter"

I went to Greenville and tried to connect for lunch with Emily and the boys. Unfortunately, she was working. I spoke to her later as she was taking the boys to the zoo and was able to have my first real telephone conversation with Bobby. He calls me "Nanny" instead of "Nana." He told me about all the animals he was going to see - Tiger, Giraffe, Turtle, Goats, Ducks, Monkeys. Bobby loves animals!

Lasagna and Baguettes

Last night for dinner I did a "from scratch" lasagna using one of Ina Garten's recipes which included goat cheese mixed with the ricotta and lots of fresh parsley and basil. I substituted sweet Italian sausage for Ina's turkey sausage. I also baked two baguettes. This was my third batch of baguettes using a pan from Williams-Sonoma. They turn out great! Dan and I both rated this the "best ever" lasagna.

January 8, 2012 - Getting ready for Charlie

Dan and I are picking up Charlie, our Goldendoodle puppy, on the 14th. We went shopping this weekend to get some supplies. Charlie will be 7-weeks old when we bring him home. We can't wait! It will be interesting to see Sophie's reaction to having a new baby brother.

Today we took down the last of the Christmas decorations and then drove to Waxhaw for lunch and a walk. It was a beautiful and relaxing day!
